Description Anton Kuzmin 2006-10-23 03:15:58 UTC
In /etc/portage/package.mask:

localhost anton # emerge -up world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies... done!
[ebuild U ] dev-db/mysql-5.0.26-r1 [5.0.26]
[ebuild UD] app-arch/tar-1.15.1-r1 [1.15.92-r1]

So remove it? You did stick it there yourself... :P

You don't understand :)
I don't want 1.16 so I masked it.

My current version is 1.15.92-r1

However, portage suggests to downgrade when 1.15.92-r1 isn't masked in package.mask
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-23 03:27:09 UTC
Of course, because the only available versions are 1.15.1-r1 and 1.16 (which you've masked for yourself).
