USE="-X -xorg-x11 -gcc -berkdb" emerge -vun openssh .
  Reproducible on my x86 system, not java related (not installed), possibly
  related to bug with openldap, but not certain.  I've condensed outputs of 
  emerge --info and logfile to fit here (can't post attachments due to bug in website; see bug 151773).
