Saw the other day over at ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/nvidia-settings/ that nvidia-settings-1.0 is released. Looked into portage and saw there reports about the latest version (dated a week before the file on download.nvidia.com) requiring beta version of nvidia-drivers (and thats apparently why it was masked). If this is how it is going to be maybe it is time to deprecate media-video/nvidia-settings in favor for a gtk USE-flag for nvidia-drivers allowing it to build nvidia-settings? Or maybe have both and block the emerge of nvidia-setting if nvidia-drivers is built with gtk and versions known to not work with it? Or has nVidia stripped nvidia-settings from the drivers in favor for the stand-alone?
Well, I don't see what bump you are requesting since it's already there. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148860 ***
