New driver version released (non-beta)! Doc: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-9626/README/index.html Download: x86: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-9626/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9626-pkg1.run x86_64: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/1.0-9626/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-9626-pkg2.run
Btw, how do you know it is not a beta?
Actually i don't know ;) I have thought that the 9625 hat a "-beta" or something appended and that this new version don't have it. Sorry.
I don't think these are beta because there not on the Nvidia beta download site =/ These might be the final version lol.
Yes they are official, read more about it here: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-507269.html
But they are not listed in here http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html and there is not any official announcement (from nVIDIA devel) on http://www.nvnews.net/
But they are listed here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-9626.html
Created attachment 99684 [details] nvidia-drivers-1.0.9626.ebuild Here's an ebuild I hacked. Not much to be done, just changed the name, the date in the header and commented out a patch.
(In reply to comment #6) > But they are listed here: > http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-9626.html Does not prove anything...
I think the fact that the splash screen when starting X still says "Beta Driver" on it pretty much confirms the fact that this is still a beta version.
Again, I added something without searching for bugs... it's in the tree, but masked, like 9625.
