Description Juan Carlos Estibariz 2006-10-13 21:23:20 UTC
Building libkonq (or any other package from kdebase-3.5.5.tar.bz2) fails with this message:

checking for MAXPATHLEN... ./configure: line 46137: syntax error near unexpected token `do'
./configure: line 46137: `  dirs=`for i in $files; do if test -d $i; then echo $i; fi; done`'

It doesn't fail in 2006.0, the difference seems to be in the version of bash in these releases, 2006.0 has:

GNU bash, version 3.1.17(1)-release (i686-pc-linux-gnu)

while 2006.1 has:

GNU bash, version 3.2.0(1)-release (i686-pc-linux-gnu)

Here's the part of the script that fails:

if test ! -s $srcdir/subdirs; then
    files=`cd $srcdir && ls -1`
  dirs=`for i in $files; do if test -d $i; then echo $i; fi; done`
  for i in $dirs; do
    echo $i >> $srcdir/subdirs
  done
fi
