In the last few days, the MySQL 4.1 ebuild went into stable, but on upgrade, the MythTV backend and MythWeb pages (current ebuilds) fail because they say they are not compatible with the .  

Any ideas other than downgrading?

Error on MythBackend:
QSqlDatabase: QMYSQL3 driver not loaded
QSqlDatabase: available drivers:
QSqlQuery::exec: database not open
QSqlQuery::exec: database not open

Eh? mysql-4.1.x has been stable for ages... Plus this is working just fine, looks like you didn't upgrade mysql properly:

P.S. Please don't restrict bugs without any reason.
