MuseScore is the MusE music typesetter. Some highlights:

    * WYSIWYG, notes are entered on a "virtual note sheet"
    * uses TrueType fonts for screen and printing (adapted from the LilyPond
project feta fonts)
    * easy and fast note entry
    * programmed in C++ using the Qt gui library
    * xml file format
    * GPL
