Reopen with something useful...
Comment 2 crusaderky 2006-09-30 20:22:57 UTC
...and I would love to do that, if not for the fact that I haven't got the slightest clue on how to produce a backtrace of a PERL program and that guide doesn't explain it...
Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-01 00:38:12 UTC
We really can't guess, sorry. Run 'dvdrip -d 9' from command-line and post the output.
Comment 4 crusaderky 2006-10-01 15:45:57 UTC
$ dvdrip -d 9

Segmentation fault suggestion is...?
Comment 5 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-01 23:46:12 UTC
Go recompile the thing without -ftree-vectorize.
Comment 6 crusaderky 2006-10-02 02:08:36 UTC
same result, even with CFLAGS="-O2" and nothing else.
Comment 7 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-02 02:23:02 UTC
Away with this bug from me, had enough... Good luck finding someone with paranomal skills.
Comment 8 Steve Dibb (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-02 09:48:24 UTC
Changing CFLAGS isn't going to help since emerging dvdrip doesnt compile anything anyway, it's just copying the perl scripts. That means that the problem is actually with something else (perl, gtk2-perl).

Either way, I can't and won't help with non-standard CFLAGS, so you're on your own there unless you want to recompile your system from scratch.

My suggestion would be to look at all the deps that are being compiled and see if other programs are having similar issues.

If all else fails, check with upstream for any suggestions.

Thanks, Guido
