I think the \ on line 1 needs to be removed. testing now.

confirmed. remove \ for line 1 this probably applies to listing 1 as well. maybe other sections on page. checking.

\ is meant as line continuation character but a trailing space confuses your shell when cutting&pasting

I'm reopening for  a related bug in the security handbook. the firewall init script in chapter 12 has several \ that wll cause the script to break if copied and pasted into a file.
