Upstream URL has changed but is still exists. The latest release of Echo2 Extras is 2.1.0. That said, even that latest release is over 7 years old and the whole Echo2 framework has since been phased out in favour of Echo3.

Is there still any user demand for this package?

There's no interest I guess. Should we also do away with dev-java/echo2? (as in, last rite it).
