Description Richard Shetron 2006-09-10 14:43:48 UTC
I've looked in the bug reports and see others have had this and it is marked as resolved, but I could not find the resolution (maybe I looked in the wrong spot). I usually know enough to find/fix easy to fix things but I'm lost on this one at the moment.

I can setup an account that could be ssh'd to if anyone wants to take a look at the system with sudo setup for root access.

I get this error immediatly. I was trying to update a system that may not have been updated for a year or more.

The first emerge sync started ok but after that I was unable to proceed.
I tried updating the /etc/make.profile link to point to the 2006.1 item without success. That only got me by the ARCH error about no make.profile.

The system is an amd athlon around 2.6Ghz and is our secondary name server.

Thanks

emerge --info and emerge -d did not work, neither did emerge --version afterwards.

before the version given was

Portage 2.0.50-r11 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r1,
2.4.22-gentoo-r5)
