You didn't post any error. Have a look a couple of lines above, it there's still none, try w/ MAKEOPTS="-j1"
My bad. Scrolling up a few pages, I found an error message and realized that i had distcc enabled (not good when the other machine is running another version of gcc). Diabling distcc solved the problem.
