Description SAngeli 2006-08-18 03:10:18 UTC
Hi,

Recently, anytime I install Gentoo from Live-cd, after chroot when at the kernel section, when run make menuconfig I do see menuconfig but all the frames are with happy faces rather than lines.
As soon as I reboot my pc with finalized gentoo handbook install procedure, then I can properly see menuconfig.
What is the problem? Is it releted to fonts?
Please help because I am not able to configure the kernel.

Thanks,
Spiro

Your console fonts/encoding is misconfigured for your locale, fix it. Bugzilla is for bugs, if you need help, please use forums.gentoo.org or #gentoo on Freenode.

Thanks.

Sorry but can you please tell me how to configure properly my locale for my console fonts/encoding?
All I know is that I boot off gentoo live-cd, I chroot and set my locales to utf-8
My only locales are C POSIX en_US.UTF-8 and it_IT.UTF-8
Now is this affecting how console works while in the middle of gentoo install? If so, how to temporarely adapt my console encoding to what I have?

thank you,
Spiro

Bugzilla is not a support forum. Please, don't use it as such. Thanks.

sorry for just asking perhaps a 1 line answer.

Nevermind....
I will post the same question on forums. I was under the impression this was a bug.

Sincerely,
Spiro
