Description Charlie Shepherd (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-16 09:48:54 UTC
When emerging dillo the configure script fails with this error:

checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** Could not run GTK test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved GTK since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the gtk-config script: /usr/bin/gtk-config
configure: error: Unable to find Gtk+ with a version >= 1.2.0. Dillo NEEDS Gtk+

However, emerging dillo without --as-needed in LDFLAGs finishes successfully.

Comment 2 Timothy Redaelli (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-18 04:45:54 UTC
It's the famous gtk+-1.* bug (using gtk.m4), the short solution is to append --disable-gtktest in econf.
It works for all gtk+ programs
