this ebuild has not been updated in gentoo in a while. Can you please p.mask and remove the ebuild?

Why? Surely not because it's broken with some unsupported LDFLAGS?
Comment 6 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-26 08:33:24 UTC
Remove it because this version is old and unsupported upstream. Doesnt make much sense to keep it in portage when version bumps dont make it.
Comment 7 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-26 17:24:23 UTC
I have been working on and off to get a new version in, but the build system gets worse and worse, especially when trying to figure out how to fix this bug. I would prefer to keep an older version in until then.
Comment 8 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-25 09:24:49 UTC
this is being taken care of in the new ebuild in bug 174670
