Description Steven Elling 2006-07-07 20:03:28 UTC
Thanks to that f'ing nss_ldap bug (bug #99564) I had to reboot my server and now the whole f'ing thing is f'ed!!!

I recently did a 'emerge -Dub system' and one of the things upgraded was glibc. I'm now running glibc-2.3.6-r4 but I cannot login to my f'ing server because of the error "*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev) 0x08068638 ***" is displayed then the login prompt is re-displayed when I try to login. Most of the services that did run on the box are f'ing hosed too.

I obviously can't set the MALLOC_CHECK_ (man 3 free) env variable because I have not logged into the system and I don't think setting it in /etc/env.d/00basic will make a f'ing difference.

What can I f'ing do to fix this short of booting from the Gentoo install CD and rebuilding the system or downgrading to glibc-2.3.6-r3?

THIS IS NOT HOW I WANTED TO SPEND MY WEEKEND!!!
