Description fturtle 2006-07-01 20:57:25 UTC
I've tried to mask x11-6.9 but portage isn't honoring /etc/portage/package.mask and the hard mask is no longer in /profiles/package.mask for some reason.

So we've now got a blocker that can't be corrected as portage aint

This is not a duplicate of 138786.

This is related to 138786 as it's attempting to use mesa-6.4.2-r2 which is attempting to pull in x11-6.9. Problem appears to affect both versions of Mesa that are in current portage tree (synced as of 1430 hrs gmt on Jul 2, 2006). Both have RDPEND: !<=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.9" line that appears to be the problem.

In this bug though, where's the mesa that's compatible with x11-7? or did someone forget to add it to the portage tree and the manifest?

No, the problem is that you haven't had a look at the documentation, despite having been asked numerous times. The above means that the ebuild does *not* work w/ xorg-x11-6.9 and lower, *not* that it pulls in xorg-x11-6.9

INVALID, closed, don't reopen.
