I own a terratec cinergy hybrid USB XS stick (http://tvde.terratec.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=249) which utilizes a em2880 chip. This is supported by the v4l project (http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Em2880). As you can see in the discussion page of that wiki entry, in analogue mode mythtv works, but needs a (very) small patch. I created an ebuild that uses this patch and it works wunderfully. Unfortunately, this patch isn't in mythtv upstream yet, but it would be nice to add it in gentoo, since it's a a simple one-line patch that can't break anything.

Sorry, I will test it in a few hours. But I don't think so, at least nothing new about mythtv is mentioned at the driver's wiki.
I have to correct myself, it works with 0.20. I don't have sound at the moment, but I suppose that's a configuration problem for my part.
