Unless I'm doing something wrong the --play switch & "Start Playback when CD player starts" checkbox in the Preference Menu are useless in gnome-cd (from package gnome-media/gnome-media-2.14_r1). Either or not I use this features, gnome-cd always starts *paused* in my laptop. Everything else is working fine. François, Can you still reproduce this bug? If you can, don't hesitate to reopen this bug. Gnome-2.16 should go stable real soon, and it'd great if you could test gnome-cd then. Have you tried looking at gnome's bugzilla for similar bug reports? Thanks

Same problem with gnome-media-2.16.1 (which includes gnome-cd). The CD is recognized (the CD title is displayed properly) but I must push the play button even if I start gnome-cd with --play. > > Have you tried looking at gnome's bugzilla for similar bug reports? > Not recently but yes at the time I filled the bug.
This is fixed for me with gnome-media-2.20.1
