Gxmessage 2.6.1 has been released. The highest version of gxmessage available in portage is 2.4.4. http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~trmusson/programs.html#gxmessage http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?gxmessage-2.4.4 Gxmessage-2.6.1 depends on gtk+ >=2.6. The requirement for gxmessage-2.4.4 is gtk+ >=2.2. I changed the ebuild to reflect this. Otherwise, I just renamed the ebuild to its current version and edited the header. It compiles and seems to run fine for me. I have mostly x86, but I do have gtk+-2.8.17, which is ~x86, and modular xorg installed.
