Note that I have two versions of glibc compiled on my system: one with nptl and the other with the older pthreads. This is done by making use of the glibc-compat20 flag and the nptl flag:

[ebuild   R   ] sys-libs/glibc-2.3.6-r3  -build -erandom +glibc-compat20 -glibc-omitfp -hardened -linuxthreads-tls (-multilib) +nls +nptl -nptlonly -pic -profile (-selinux) -userlocales 0 kB
Comment 1 Tarik 2006-05-24 15:57:40 UTC
It appears that this error only occurs for DVDs (data and audio CDs work fine). Furthermore, this crash only occurs in my first optical drive (DVD-ROM, /dev/hdc). Gnome-mount mounts all media on my second optical drive (DVD-R, /dev/hdd).

Also, this bug has been reported upstream by three different people (bug #335521, #339076, #340360):

Comment 2 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-30 05:44:02 UTC
reporter or seemant:

can one of you recompile glib / gtk / libgnomeui with something like:
FEATURES="nostrip" USE="debug" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -g -ggdb"

and then attach the backtrace from bug buddy or the shell?

Thanks
