Nowadays, SKAS means performance for all user-mode-linux users. The host kernel has to be patched for SKAS improvements, however, usermode-sources has not to do it. Maybe it would be nice to design a way to patch Linux sources for users who want SKAS improvements. For example, adding a new USE called "skas" for usermode-sources ebuild in order to detect the /usr/src/linux sources version and install the correct patch. SKAS patches has two versions: v8.2 and v9-preX. Moreover, there are patches for all the last Linux versions of both tree, 2.4.x and 2.6.x, as you can see here: http://www.user-mode-linux.org/~blaisorblade/patches/skas3-2.4/ http://www.user-mode-linux.org/~blaisorblade/patches/skas3-2.6/
