Description Vincent van de Camp 2006-04-12 14:57:11 UTC
A clean install of 2006.0 gentoo, starting at stage 1 stalls when emerge world tries to emerge module-init-tools-3.2.1. It can't find automake. When I manually emerge automake, this emerge fails in turn because of Locale-gettext that allegedly isn't present. After emerging Locale-gettext, emerge automake still reports there is no Locale-gettext installed.

Don't use stage1 unless you know what you are doing. You apparently didn't run `emerge -e system` but rather just `emerge system`
