Howdy Gentoo developers, I created a gentoo-logos-0.1.ebuild which I have attached to this bug report. This ebuild is a little unusual, and I'd like to submit it with a kind of RFC (request for comment). gentoo-logos-0.1.ebuild downloads and installs Gentoo Linux logos and related artwork into /usr/share/pixmaps/gentoo-logos-0.1. Currently the ebuild knows only about the three "powerered-by" logos on the page at http://www.gentoo.org/index-graphics.html. I'd also like to add those cool cow and gentoo lollie(?) font logos from http://www.gentoo.org and anything else I can find. Having these graphics installed form the user's portage and installed into /usr/share/pixmaps makes it easy for proud users to customize their desktop to have a certain Gentoo look. eg. setting the large logo in GDM's logon box to be "powered by Gentoo Linux" would rock imho. I merged 1047 into gentoo-logos-0.1.ebuild. I would like to merge 1194 also, but I really nead a URL to the image (afaik it's only in bugs as an attachment). (Troy if you can give a URL to it, let me know etc.) This attachment is updated to incorporate 1047. Perhaps 1047 can be marked as a duplicate of this bug now? I know it isn't a gentoo logo, but I think http://www.gnome.org/images/logo-large would make a nice addition to the gdm logo's
Since I'm a new and aspiring member of the dev team, I'll grab this and see if I can dig up any other gentoo specific images (IIRC there are a couple floating around on forums.gentoo.org) Regarding Bug #8732, I'll see what I can do, I'm no graphic artist though :)
