Description Peter Koeleman 2006-03-31 11:11:08 UTC
After a fresh install I tried to emerge Gimp but that failed. The configure script told me:
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

Config.log will be attached next.

emerge --info stuff:

I need to search? Well I did. I read all bugs regarding Gimp. The only XML::Parser bug you get searching for "XML::Parser" is slightly related. I see that now that I read the comments at bug #41124.
After 100 or so duplicates in a year, I still cannot count on Gentoo to install software properly.
Oops, I missed that message about perl-cleaner while 60 or so packages were being emerged with emerge -uND world after a stage3 install. Silly me, should have read that. Nah don't worry, you'll just get more duplicate bugs like this because people dodn't read/care about reading the message (comment #88 at bug #41124).

Yay, there's nothing like a Friday rant... :P
