Comment 3 Bret Towe 2002-12-28 00:30:53 UTC
the plugin problem?
simple it doesnt show up in moz/galeon
and the error i get from galeon is

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/opt/sun-jdk-1.4.1.01/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so
[/opt/sun-jdk-1.4.1.01/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined
symbol: GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager]

moz doesnt say anything (i guess error msgs are off)
Comment 4 Adrian Almenar 2002-12-28 10:14:05 UTC
This is a known problem.

You can enable plugin compiling dev-java/sun-j2sdk.
Comment 5 Bret Towe 2002-12-28 13:57:51 UTC
yeah i tried that when this other thing didnt want to work
but 2 problems 1 im on dialup (yay just what i need more to dl)
2 it doesnt like openmotif being installed
Comment 6 Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-28 14:01:56 UTC
i wish we would cease recommending the sun-j2sdk. the licence governing it is
horrendous. :-/
Comment 7 Adrian Almenar 2003-03-13 00:15:20 UTC
Ok, to make the plugin work, you can use the latest blackdown-jdk-1.4.1 cause its compiled with gcc-3.2. (This jdk is ~arch masked).

Can you try it and give me your feedback, its working for me.
