This is not a bug, this is a new ebuild for the Perl module XML:Generator::DBI I wrote.

Please, review the following policy wrt perl ebuilds and explain why is this ebuild needed in portage:

Ok, this was my first ebuild and I didn't know there were restrictions for Perl modules. I can't explain why this module is necessary, all I know is that I need it for the scripts of nulog (, a Web interface to view logs of firewall.
Since I built my own ebuild, i wanted to give it to the community. Maybe it's not really useful, but I found it was easier to emerge it.
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-28 13:59:37 UTC
There are already too many perl ebuilds. For gcpan stuff, use app-portage/g-cpan unless there's other reason for the ebuild to be in portage, as mentioned in that policy.

Thanks anyway, closing this bug.
