portage-2.1_pre7-r1 does not create digests if SRC_URI is empty (e.g. on metapackages, cvs-ebuilds etc.).

Portage requires an empty file as digest on such ebuilds and in the past, it was always able to create one.

Thanks for reporting.  This is released in 2.1_pre7-r2.
