I honestly don't know what caused this... there was that upgrade to the ffmpeg that I did, xine crashed, and the day after the emerge ffmpeg got hard masked. I downgraded to the previous ffmpeg, recompiled xine-lib, and xine still crashed. andrew@StubbornAesthetics ~ $ xine This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4.
