During an emerge "genlop -c" no longer works: -------------------------- $ genlop -c !!! Error: no working merge found. (the -c option only works if there is an ongoing compilation, see manpage) -------------------------- I noticed this today after the update to sys-apps/portage-2.1_pre6-r4
There seems to be a problem with sandbox not working in 2.1_pre6-r4 and `genlop -c` depends on the sandbox running.
I have the same problem. Juergen
This sandbox feature is fixed in 2.1_pre6-r5. The problem was caused by the patch for bug 126711 and only affected portage-2.1_pre6-r4.
Please update portage to 2.1_pre6-r5.
I'm having the same problem with genlop-0.30.5 and sys-apps/portage-2.1.1-r2. % emerge --info Portage 2.1.1-r2 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r4, 2.6.18-gentoo-r2 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.18-gentoo-r2 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1900+ Gentoo Base System version 1.12.6 Last Sync: Fri, 01 Dec 2006 00:20:01 +0000 app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.30 dev-lang/python: 2.4.3-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.60 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r4 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-ggdb -O2" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/java-config/vms/ /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-ggdb -O2" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks fixpackages metadata-transfer nostrip sandbox sfperms strict userpriv" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://213.186.33.38/gentoo-distfiles/ ftp://ftp.sh.cvut.cz/MIRRORS/gentoo/gentoo http://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/download/gentoo-mirror/ http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/Gentoo ftp://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo/ http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ " LINGUAS="en ja" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS="--timeout=300" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage /usr/portage/local/layman/xemacs" SYNC="rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow X Xaw3d aac aalib alsa apm arts berkdb bindist bitmap-fonts bzip2 canna cdr cjk cli cracklib crypt cups debug dlloader doc dri dvd elibc_glibc emboss encode esd firefox foomaticdb fortran freetype freewnn gdbm gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 iconv imlib input_devices_joystick input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse ipv6 isdnlog java joystick jpeg kde kdexdeltas kernel_linux libg++ libwww linguas_en linguas_ja lm_sensors mad maildir mbox mikmod mmx mng mozsvg mp3 mpeg mule ncurses nls noantlr nobcel nobeanutils nobsh nocommonslogging nocommonsnet nodrm nojdepend nojsch nojython nolog4j nooro noregexp norhino noxalan noxerces nptl nptlonly ogg opengl oss pam pcre perl pic png pppd python qt qt3 qt4 quicktime readline reflection ruby scanner sdl session spell spl sse ssl tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb userland_GNU video_cards_fbdev video_cards_mga video_cards_vesa vorbis wmf xine xinerama xml xorg xv zlib" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, MAKEOPTS
I have genlop 0.30.8-r1 and portage 2.1.4_rc14 which are still incompatible. Any hope ?
(In reply to comment #6) > I have genlop 0.30.8-r1 and portage 2.1.4_rc14 which are still incompatible. > > Any hope ? > It seems to work here. Maybe it's a genlop bug or your emerge.log is not recognized somehow and you need to remove it and start over. You can also try qlop from the portage-utils package.
It works fine here with sys-apps/portage-2.1.4_rc14 and app-portage/genlop-0.30.8-r1 What output do you get from genlop when it fails?
I have now sys-apps/portage-2.1.4.4 and genlop 0.30.8-r1 and portage-utils 0.1.129 which will gcc-4.3.1... is on the compil gives me : qlop -v -c No emerge processes located Or genlop -c !!!
