Hello folks, merry christmas!!! I think that some masked packages can be used as stable a long time. It has been tested and are VERY stable. The list that I have testes is: SDL-1.2.5 <- Very important to compatibility with some new games (csmash-0.6.5) alsa-driver-0.90.0_rc6 alsa-libs-0.90.0_rc6 alsa-utils-0.90.0_rc6 Thanxs a lot... Bernardo Souza Alves da Silva.
what are you thinking about this guys ?
Well, I proposed marking alsa _rc6 as stable a few days ago on -core. I'm all for it; I think it's the most stable alsa that we've ever had.
Seemant, I'm a bit puzzled: can I unmask the alsa rc6 packages, and how does that fit with the 1.4 release business? ;^)
Arcady, if you feel it can be unmasked then go for it.
Well, I already unmasked the alsa packages (I created a separate bug for it: bug 12695). Who maintains the SDL ebuild (I take it Bernardo is talking about media-libs/libsdl)? [reasigning back to bug-wranglers]
sdl1.2.5 is stable on x86
