These steps always make nautilus crash: 1. Open a Browser window 2. Expand the subdirectory tree of some directory on the right browser side 3. Select the same directory on the left side Portage 2.0.54 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.6, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1700MHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 distcc[2300] (dcc_set_trace_from_env) ERROR: failed to open logfile /var/log/distcc.log: Permission denied [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/bind /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" LANG="en_US@euro" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://einstein.mknet.prv/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X acpi alsa apache2 arts audiofile avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo bzip2 cdr crypt cscope cups curl dri dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd ethereal exif expat f77 fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran gcj gd gdbm gif gimp gimpprint glut gmp gnome gphoto2 gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml idn imagemagick imlib ipv6 jack java jpeg junit lcms ldap libg++ libwww mad mbox mhash mikmod mmx mng motif mozilla mozsvg mp3 mpeg mysql nas ncurses nls nvidia oci8 ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl php plotutils png ppds python qt quicktime readline recode samba scanner sdl spell sse sse2 ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb vorbis wmf xfce xml xml2 xmms xprint xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
can't reproduce on 2.12 or 2.14. @reporter: can you still reproduce? what version of nautilus?
Yes, I can. Nautilus version is 2.12.2.
Maik, I can't reproduce this bug either with gnome-2.16. If you still encounter this bug, please rebuild nautilus with the debug flag and follow this guide http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml to give us more details about what's going on. Thanks
Solved with current version. Thanks!
