Description p cooper 2006-03-07 08:59:07 UTC
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-435192-highlight-.html are the day to day details

with via-rhine module nodprobed or configured in the kernel, the sytem locks up after 60-90 mins. I dont reliuably get any error message, ( but have on a couple of (occasions).

Googling the problem, there appears to be a problem with 2.6 kernels and this driver My system locks after 1 hr, others reporting it seem to have 1 lockup/day .

should the details go to anyone else ?

Comment 1 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-14 11:41:53 UTC
2.6.11 is several months old. Please reproduce on the latest kernel (2.6.15), or even better, the latest development kernel (2.6.16-rc5)

see comment #1
Comment 3 p cooper 2006-04-27 00:39:06 UTC
updating to 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 seems to fix it
