Description Ruud Althuizen 2006-02-17 12:06:27 UTC
An ebuild for playground-bmp will be attached. playground-bmp is a plugin for
controlling beep-media-player via the playground gnome panel applet.

This will probably never make it into portage as beep-media-player is dead upstream and chainsaw has plans for removing it from portage.

a message sent to gentoo-dev back in January:

Good afternoon,

Please note that I am planning to remove beep-media-player and
accompanying plugin packages from the portage tree in 14 days, unless
anyone can convince me of a good reason why they should stay.
This software has been abandoned by it's authors since October 2005.

Note that a currently active fork exists (Audacious), which has absorbed
the necessary functionality to play all formats that BMP would have
needed a plugin for.
Audacious is already in portage and is the suggested upgrade path for
anyone currently using BMP 0.9.7.1 or older.

Regards,
Tony (Chainsaw)

As indicated by Thomas, this will not make it into portage. I will mask beep-media-player now to avoid more WONTFIX bug reports.
