Some ebuilds (e.g. perl) display important information while merging. The problem is, that on merges like
  emerge -uD world
nobody has his/her eyes on the screen, so nobody will read them.

It would be nice if these warnings could be simply mailed to root. Maybe this behavior should be made dependent of a "mail" FEATURE in make.conf or such. But it would definitively be a nice thing because this also can be used to archive these messages for later use.
