Here's what happened when I tried running amarok 1.4 beta1:

KCrash: Application 'amarokapp' crashing...
Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.
ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 24148, errno = 0

As you can see, it can't drkonqi and dies. After "emerge drkonqi", amarok...err..."get's further" would be a nice way of saying it. BTW, I am a gnome user.
