After the latest gnome update, I have gnome-panel 2.12.2 installed. Whenever any application uses ssh-askpass, the process wnck-applet starts consuming 100% of CPU and the panel is dead. I always have to kill the process and then have gnome restart the three depending applets. Reproducible at any time by just invoking x11-ssh-askpass from the command line. My x11-ssh-askpass version is the current stable 1.2.2-r1. emerge --info output: Portage 2.0.54 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.6, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1700MHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/bind /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X acpi alsa apache2 arts audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo bzip2 cdr crypt cups curl dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd ethereal exif expat f77 fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran gcj gd gdbm gif gimp gimpprint glut gmp gnome gphoto2 gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml idn imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg junit lcms ldap libg++ libwww mad mbox mhash mikmod mmx mng motif mozilla mozsvg mp3 mpeg mysql nas ncurses nls nvidia oci8 ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl png ppds python qt quicktime readline recode samba scanner sdl spell sse sse2 ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb vorbis wmf xfce xml xml2 xmms xprint xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
I have the very same problem running current ~x86 system.
Maik and Jiri, Can any of you reproduce this bug with an up-to-date stable or unstable gnome? Don't hesitate to reopen this bug if it's still there. Thanks
Solved with current version.
