Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-29 11:16:29 UTC
As summary say, I'd like if arch team would start testing gxine 0.5.3-r1 for stable marking; it won't be a month until 11 Feb but I'd like this to be tested before so that eventual problems can be found now.

Sparc is not in the call for stable but for testing, _please_ give that a try ASAP, I'd like to drop that so that old 0.4 can go away and not need me to port that too (it has different X dependencies and that I know).

Thanks,
Diego

other icons are fine. beside that, everything looks fine

As a note, for myself mostly, gxine requires a current ~x86 build of spidermonkey. For gxine to go stable we'll have to stable it as well.

sorry for the bugspam people, however when starting up gxine for the first time and configuring it as a hub for multiple program's I get a segfault.

0xb79dc277 in g_main_context_prepare () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
(gdb) bt
#0 0xb79dc277 in g_main_context_prepare () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
#1 0xb79dcc19 in g_main_context_acquire () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
#2 0xb79dd19a in g_main_loop_run () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
#3 0xb7d759e3 in gtk_main () from /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0

#5 0x0805e786 in main (argc=1, argv=0xbfabbcd4) at main.c:488

If I however tell it to not associate with any of the programs it will start up fine I still however segfault when I try to open a video. Its backtrace is

#0 0xffffe410 in __kernel_vsyscall ()
#1 0xb7f20668 in accept () from /lib/libpthread.so.0

Okay I think we can rule out stabling 0.5.3-r1, the first segfault is already reported as bug #109159 but I thought it was a single issue.
I'll see to contact Darren and ask him what he thinks of that.

Please give a try to gxine 0.5.4, also if it's probably not enough to get it stable, either.
Comment 5 Joshua Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-02 19:38:27 UTC
Video's will now play at least with the 0.5.4 however I still have the same crash at associations just as you expected.

They don't like sparc, and the new rev of spidermonkey that isn't even ~sparc doesn't either.
Comment 7 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-13 07:06:39 UTC
Okay this won't be marked stable until upstream finds the issue..
Comment 8 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-12 20:41:45 UTC
Removing ppc so it doesn't show up in our list any more. Please re-add us when you're ready to mark it stable!
Comment 9 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-13 09:37:41 UTC
Actually amd64, ppc, ppc64 and x86 have 0.5.7 stable, sparc didn't even keyword any gxine 0.5* ~arch.
