Description David Fellows 2006-01-01 09:50:47 UTC
The following error is observed on a x86 system with openoffice-bin-2.0.0 and an amd64 system with openoffice-bin-2.0.0 and currently 2.0.1.

It happens every time you start openoffice.

The following error dialog pops up some minutes after starting Openoffice. It does not seem to be related to what you are currently doing (including doing nothing at all).

Error loading BASIC of document
file:///opt/OpenOffice.org/share/basic/WebWizard/script.xlb/:
General Error
General input/output error.

After clicking to close the error dialog, you get a second one complaing about file:///opt/OpenOffice.org/share/basic/WebWizard/dialog.xlb/:

After closing this error dialog, there are no further error dialogs. There is no
problem continuing working on what you were doing.

I have tried using the WebWizard. File->WIzards->Web Page.
It worked with no missing file errors. Except that clicking the Preview button resulted in AbiWord 2.2 being launched as the browser! That would appear to be a different problem - I don't want to go there at this time.

Version 2 was installed as an emerge upgrade from openoffice-bin-1.1.5 version on both systems.

Following info is off the amd64 system.
I did the following find as root:
kanga ~ # find / -name script.xlb
/usr/lib32/openoffice/presets/basic/Standard/script.xlb
/usr/lib32/openoffice/share/basic/Depot/script.xlb
/usr/lib32/openoffice/share/basic/Euro/script.xlb

/mnt/gentoo-x86-2004.2-chroot/home/fellows/.ooo-2.0/user/basic/Standard/script.xlb

Part of the path referenced is there:

 ls -l /opt/OpenOffice.org/share/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Nov 3 2004 fonts

Clearly the files being sought are not present on my system anywhwere.

kanga ~ # emerge -pv openoffice-bin

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
