Description Roelof Streekstra 2005-12-28 21:27:48 UTC
Emerge problem.

Try to emerge poppler but poppler complains about that xpdf-3.01-r4 is blocking it. The version of xpdf that is installed on this system is 3.01-r3. This is a lower version then the version that is blocking it.

Question: Is this normal behaviour?

My system is as follows:

nbook64 # emerge --info
Portage 2.1_pre2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.1, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.14-gentoo-r2 x86_64)

What version of poppler are you trying to emerge ?

I have been able to reproduce this.
But only happens if stable xpdf is already installed & poppler is unmasked.

Not really a bug.
If you have unmasked poppler, then you'll also need to unmask xpdf.

You no longer need xpdf for cups. If you need it otherwise, you need to unmerge the old version and unmask and emerge 3.01-r4

No bug here.
