Description Chris Brims 2005-12-13 18:49:27 UTC
After upgrading to XFCE 4.2.3.2 the "Move window to workspace <#>" feature no
longer works, found in Settings > Window Manager > Keyboard > Window shortcuts.
I use Mod4+a for selecting workspace 1, Mod4+s for selecting workspace 2, Mod4+d
for 3, and Mod4+f for 4. So I know Mod4 key (Windows key) works. For moving
windows to workspace I use Mod4+z for moving to 1, Mod4+x for moving to 2,
Mod4+c for moving to 3, and Mod4+v for moving to 4. These last 4 stopped
working. I set these keys to other key combinations without any luck.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Settings dialog
2. Select "Window Manager"
3. Select "Keyboard" tab on the "Window Manager" dialog
4. Add a new profile
5. Change "Move window to workspace <#>" keys to some key combination know,
unless you know what Alt+Control+KP_# is (I don't)
6. Try using the key combination to move any window to another workspace
Actual Results:
No windows were moved to selected workspace.

Expected Results:
Should have moved the currently active window to the specified workspace.

I am running the latest XFCE4, 4.2.3.2. This feature worked prior to the upgrade.

the standard alt+cntrl+KP_1.... works here I need to test modifying them
Comment 2 Chris Brims 2006-02-17 20:13:14 UTC
I just tried the default on fairly fresh install of ~x86, and it still doesn't work for me.
Comment 3 Yang Zhao 2006-05-07 00:47:36 UTC
Confirmed.

I'm using Ctrl+Shift+F#

All arbituary key combinations I've tried will not work, including single keystrokes (1, k, etc). However, the key itself will stop working, so it seems that the event is being intercepted correctly, but not acted on.
Comment 4 Mike 2006-10-02 04:55:14 UTC
I can confirm this, and apparently this bug has been fixed upstream, see:
http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1257

I'll attach a new ebuild and a patch to fix this.
