Typo in GNOME ALSA Mixer: "PC Speaker Playnack" should read "PC Speaker Playback". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open GNOME ALSA Mixer. 2. Read the line labelled "PC Speaker Playnack". 3. Realize that "Playback" isn't conventionally spelled with an 'n'. Actual Results: Reads "PC Speaker Playnack". Expected Results: Should read "PC Speaker Playback". You can rename the displayed name in the File:Properties dialog, but the internal name remains misspelled.
gnome-alsamixer is maintained by sound, not by gnome. The main gnome mixer has the correct name ("PC Speaker").
No typo in gnome-alsamixer 0.9.6 As Daniel pointed out, it says "Pc Speaker"
I've verified this is dependent on the CMedia PCI drivers, not ALSA mixer. Sorry for the confusion. I'm closing the bug as this isn't the proper forum.
