FYI this emulator has been open-source since 0.70. It may be possible, with a quasi-herculean effort, to compile instead of using the provided binaries. Author states he is looking for *nix assistance. Deps on SEAL and Allegro. The license also needs to be updated to: #1 This source code comes free, without any warantee given. #2 Any modification of this software must have this license preserved, and source code made available under the same condition. #3 Reuse of program source code is authorized for any purpose. #4 Reuse of embedded data (database, graphics) in other projects is not authorized, unless given specific permission from me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Can anyone create an ebuild for the new version? The old version crashes: [READY] -- X Error of failed request: XF86VidModeZoomLocked Major opcode of failed request: 136 (XFree86-VidModeExtension) Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (XF86VidModeLockModeSwitch) Serial number of failed request: 282 Current serial number in output stream: 286 Terminated.
It's better to open a new bug for the problem you're encountering. Creating an ebuild for 0.71 is beyond my abilities, and the author hasn't made any more binary releases, unfortunately.
I resolved the crash by changing the xorg config. I tried also to build the new version by hand but one library they use does not compile. It seems that it (SEAL SDK) depends on Voxware Sound driver (a pre oss driver in kernel 1.3.x) ;-) So I stick with an other Windows Emulator and wine.
OK, I'm closing and marking won't fix because: ) Deps on SEAL which isn't and shouldn't be in Portage ) Upstream hasn't provided an official binary ) The above two facts aren't likely to change Use another resolution if more appropriate.
