I have a Sony Vaio PCG-F540 laptop with a 3com 3cxfe575bt pcmcia ethernet card. The whole system freezes when I run 'cardmgr -f' It freezes after `./network start eth0`. I'm don't have a real great understanding of how all this works, but I did try to get it to work without using the cardmgr... ////////////////////////////////////////// # insmod pcmcia_core # insmod i82365 # insmod ds # modprobe 3c575_cb now a problem... # /etc/pcmcia/network start eth0 /etc/pcmcia/network: /var/lib/pcmcia/stab: No such file or directory ////////////////////////////////////////// Maybe that shouldn't have worked, because I'm forgetting to do something else first. I just tried to avoid the cardmgr. Oh yeah, I'm using build-ix86-1.0_rc6-r17.iso Your bug submission form doesn't have that version as a choice. Nathanial Hendler Tucson, AZ USA http://retards.org/
Also have reported problems with 3.1.31 on #gentoo that are apparently fixed when using a 3.1.32 prerelease version.
pcmcia-cs-3.1.33 may fix this problem, so I set that as a dependency.
I have unmasked pcmcia-cs 3.1.33, and it will appear on the next ISO.
Assume this one is fixed as #1056 is done. PCMCIA 3.1.33 will be on an upcoming ISO.
