I emerge sync'd in order to update the profile I am using from 2004.0 to 2004.3. I set the symlink as required then did emerge sync. 'str' object has no attribute 'insert' !!! 'rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles; emerge sync' may fix this. If it does !!! not then please report this to bugs.gentoo.org and, if possible, a dev !!! on #gentoo (irc.freenode.org) Unquote I did as it said to remove /usr/portage/profiles and ran once more.
