i added an option to manually set the location of default gentoo webserver content. if not set otherwise the $DATADIR defaults to /var/www/localhost as this seems to be current default location. at a latter stage this "mechanism" could possibly be adapted to be used in accordance to glep #11 and #20. based on gentoo-webroot-default-0.2.ebuild and setup_apache_vars function present in apache ebuild(s). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Created attachment 72470 [details] repacked gentoo-webroot-default-0.2.tar.bz2 package repacked for new ebuild - included for convenience, but please check it anyway!
i first missed bug 109482 which advises the use of emerge --config instead of ebuild ... config - now the new ebuild fixes that also!

Created attachment 75240 [details] glep 20 compliant ebuild made the ebuild compliant with glep 20 (http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/glep/glep-0020.html) - but all changes proposed seem to be in vein as the whole ebuild is presumably going away? please, see bug 90748
gentoo-webroot-default is going away, and is no longer used as of apache 2.0.58. As far as making apache GLEP 20 compliant, I'll work on it for the apache 2.2.x ebuilds.
There will be no GLEP 20 / USE=srvdir feature even in Apache 2.2.X, what little is there is going to be removed. No other ebuild in the whole tree supports this and there is no desire on part of the maintainers to support something like this... Closing, best regards, CHTEKK.
