Similar to sun-jdk and setiathome, this ebuild (attached) first requires you to download the package and place it into $DISTDIR. This makes it much easier to maintain winex under Gentoo. Some unresolved issues are what License to use and the dependencies. Currently just copied the run-time deps from the gentoo winex ebuild.

whats the advantage of using this ebuild over the current winex ?
this installs a transgaming-supported tarball that has all the stuff that you can only get if you have a transgaming subscription (cd protection, etc).
Created attachment 6069 [details] new version of the ebuild This is a new cleaned up version of the winex-transgaming ebuild. It will now check MD5 and use less bash. Tastes great and less filling.
I can't test it on my box (i'm no winex subscriber because i have no credit card) but i will add it shortly. Changing status to ASSIGNED. -phoen][x-
Hey Max! Adding it as we speak. Sorry for the delay - i took some time off (one month). Do i see that right, or does it share locations with app-emulation/winex (/usr/bin/winex)? I'm making winex-transgaming block winex and vice versa. Got a better idea? -phoen][x-
Created attachment 8443 [details] new ebuild Oh hey! I forgot abou this thing. Yeah, making it block winex and winex-cvs is probably a good idea as the winex prebuilt package contains all the paths hardcoded (methinks). I'm also attaching a new cleaner ebuild. (I learned some stuff about portage and ebuilds in the past few months) :-)
Committed. Test it please (because i can't). -phoen][x-
