Comment 3 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-21 03:35:54 UTC
@node: Looks like your harddisk filled up, are you sure, you had enough free
disk space?

@Drlik: AMD64 is not supported, so this is not a bug, also this is totally
unrelated to the original bug

Another "Could not register all components!" log

After compiled for 7 hours on my AthlonXP 2500+ with 512 MB ram, it gave me the
similar problem. I am wondering does it have to do with locale? Since my LANG
variable in emerge environment is set to zh_CN.
Comment 5 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-21 09:18:15 UTC
@Yu Wang: No, zh_CN should be fine, built it myself with that a few days ago,
also please provide your output of "emerge info"

Comment 7 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-21 09:29:57 UTC
Seems you are both building with -python and according to the logs this could be
python related so maybe this is broken. Could you try with USE="python" emerge
openoffice, and see if that helps?
Comment 8 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-21 14:03:16 UTC
Ok, I can reproduce this, the build is failing with -python, unfortunate.
Comment 9 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-21 14:30:02 UTC
I've now removed the python use-flag from the ebuild now, so we depend on python
and use --with-system-python for OOo by default now. Makes more sense anyway as
every Gentoo system has python cause of portage.

Please give the mirrors some time, then do another emerge sync and try again,
the build should continue fine now. Closing
Comment 10 Olliver Schinagl 2005-10-22 07:31:32 UTC
diskspace indeed wasn't the problem. I had 5gb availble for the merge, should be
plenty.

Anyhow it's been building for the past 2 1/2 hrs so it appears to be the python
flag. I'm suprised it's a user settable flag however, since as you mention every
gentoo install has python installed.
Then again, you might not want to build everything with python couplings all of
the time.

Anyway, I'm assuming that i'll keep on building for the next few hrs so I'll
leave it as fixed : ).
