Nothing to add here, maybe except that during last weeks there is a very interesting discussion on mc-devel list about various propositions for enhancements and simplifications. I hope that they will follow some of those ideas, especially adding correct UTF-8 support via ncurses. Slang is pleasent for the eye but it handles some things with UTF-8 simply wrong, like for example japanese signs (in mc it puts additional undeleteable dot after the cursor with each sign entered (with scim-anthy) - good thing is that it's only display problem - commands don't seem to be affected by it) (of course I'm talking about slang 2.0) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
