Description Christian Strauf 2005-09-19 00:44:39 UTC
The following effect can be observed on two different machines:

- Apache is upgraded to stable version 2.0.54-r31
- when trying to upgrade or newly install mod_php using "emerge mod_php" or
"emerge -u mod_php", the following error is given, when using "-p":

--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------

blade2 ssl # emerge -up mod_php

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B     ] >=net-www/apache-2.0.54-r30 (is blocking dev-php/mod_php-4.4.0-r2)
[ebuild  N    ] dev-php/mod_php-4.4.0-r2
blade2 ssl #

--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------

Unfortunately, this error is rather critical because after the upgrade of
Apache, the old mod_php seems to refuse to work which makes PHP unusable on the
server at this time.

Thanks in advance for looking into this problem,
Christian
